Would you like a road trip by bike on a giant cycle path crossing all of Europe?

Well, the dream is becoming reality with the establishment of the "Scandiberian" track linking Trondheim in Norway to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

A project combining a cultural route and a passion for cycling

As a guarantee of its seriousness, the project is supported by the organization EuroVelo 3 , the pilgrims' cycle route, and is supported by the European Union.

It will allow all cycling fans to be able to cross a large part of Europe , in complete freedom, by taking a route which will be reserved for them (largely).

On the program 3086 kilometers of cycle paths (part of which are made by ferry) to link northern Norway to western Spain. With a good daily rhythm, this represents 200 hours of driving to discover a total of seven countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France and Spain.

The Scandibérique still under development

The French part of the route, also called the Scandibérique, is under development.

If the road is already ready in Denmark and well advanced in Germany, there is still a lot of work to be done to develop the cycle path in Sweden, Norway and Spain.

In France, the route of the cycle route which crosses the country, from north to south over more than 1700 km is also partially advanced. A large part must still be marked out because only the Orléans-Tours section and that of Angoulême are already ready.

Traveling between plains and hills, historic towns and green spaces, the Scandibérique offers the possibility of exploring, through 20 departments and 6 regions, many French terroirs, heritages and remarkable sites.

An enticing concept for two-wheeled adventurers

“Are you looking for a cultural route for your next cycling trip, but also want to party every once in a while? The pilgrims' cycle route retraces the famous route of Santiago de Compostela, while crossing major cities such as Oslo, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Cologne, Paris and Bordeaux, for an unparalleled nightlife. “, can we read on the French version of the website.

The Scandiberic Challenge x Weebike

Totally fans of the Scandibérique project, we want to support this great initiative by sponsoring a cyclist who will make the trip on one of our Weebike electric bikes .

If you're up for the adventure of the Scandibérique x Weebike challenge, it's happening here .
