Tips for using the wick kit for tubeless tires
In the event of a puncture, you must stop as soon as possible to get to safety and repair the punctured tyre.
In order to repair your puncture as quickly as possible, use your repair kit.
Remember to have enough to inflate your tire afterwards (step 8).
The repair is done from the outside , without removing the tire from the rim and even without removing the wheel. Attention, only a repair of the tread is possible , if the sidewall of the tire is damaged, change the wheel.
The hole should not be too big and you must not have driven too long with the tire flat.
The tubeless tire repair kit works thanks to the chemical reaction between the glue, the rubber of the tire and the tubeless wick : this is called cold vulcanization.
- Locate the foreign body and remove it from the tire with pliers.
- Then push the scorer in and out several times in the hole. This must be neat and clean to receive the wick.
- Place the wick in the eye of the wick holder, making sure to obtain two strands of the same length.
- Use the glue tube on the wick
- Push the wick inside using the tool, making a few rotational movements so that it penetrates well. Be sure to leave about two centimeters of wick on the outside.
- Wait two minutes for the cold vulcanization to take place. Then remove the screwdriver by twisting the bit inside the tire.
- Cut the ends that protrude to three millimeters of the tire tread.
- Inflate your tire
